This Hold is home to the capital city of Solitude, governed by the High King's widow, Jarl Elisif the Fair. It is also home to the Bards College and the headquarters for the Imperial Legion.

This Hold is home to the city of Morthal, governed by Jarl Idgrod Ravencrone. Be wary, there seems to be a large concentration of vampires in this Hold.

This Hold is home to the city of Dawnstar, governed by Jarl Skald the Elder. There is also an outdated Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary just outside the city.

This Hold is home to the city of Markarth, governed by Jarl Igmund, and has the dreaded Forsworn in the surrounding mountains.

This Hold is home to the city of Riften, governed by Jarl Laila Law-Giver, and is home to the notorious Thieves Guild.

This Hold is home to the city of Winterhold, governed by Jarl Korir, and the Mages College of Winterhold.
