Rather than fight with the festering crowds at the market, Grim usually did his supply gathering in the Grey Quarter. The food there was just as fresh, but usually more expensive due to the lack of quantities, and most of the Nords stayed away. Grim strolled down the street in his regular armor, since the Dunmer didn't particularly like to see Stormcloaks lurking about in their living area, when a courier approached him. The man handed him the letter without a single word and let the moment the argonian looked away. When Grim opened the letter, it read: Dear Stormcloak (Who I would very much like to murder),
Look, I know who you are. And as much as I hate to say this, you and I are going to have to throw down a truce until Alduin is defeated. Seeing as I'm not welcome in your city, you'll have to meet me in Kynesgrove at your earliest convince. Oh, and come alone. I'm trying to be nice, but I could easily destroy you all.
Legate S'kvari Tells-Grim-Tales scoffed at the letter. She wasn't doing a very good job at presenting her idea of a truce. Starting the letter off with a threat was not a great way to convince him to go meet this person. The fact that she was so damn sure of herself really threw him for a loop. Grim just knew that he was going to despise this S'kvari person. Sounded like a Khajiit name to him. Grim did find a bit of common ground with her because of that, they were both a part of a minority group in Skyrim. Maybe she wouldn't be so bad in person? Grim hoped that she wouldn't be, but doubted that she would be very pleasant. It seemed like it was worth a shot to meet the Khajiit and see what she had to say, so he headed to Kynesgrove shortly after reading the letter. It was just a short walk from Windhelm, so it wasn't long before he arrived. Grim didn't see a Khajiit anywhere, just some humans going about their lives. He sat on the steps of the Braidwood Inn and waited.

"So you are Tells-Grim-Tales." A voice called from a tree near the building. The Khajiit Legate sat perched on one of its branches, watching the lizard with her dark purple eyes. "You may recognize me, as I was the Legate in charge of your execution. Now, I'm going to make one thing clear before I go on. I don't like you, and I'm sure you don't like me. The only reason I'm not hauling you back to the headsman is because Skyrim needs you." After she finished that, she hopped out of the tree and approached him. "Don't make me regret being nice. We, along with a sellsword by the name of Wilhelm Bear-Heart have to defeat Alduin, otherwise this war is for nothing. That of all things, you understand I'm sure. The World Eater will destroy Skyrim and won't stop there. The three chosen Dovahkiin... but first. I need to to prove what I already know. Go on. Use your Thu'um. She me your Voice."

When Grim heard a voice, he glanced at the tree from which it came. Sure enough, a khajiit sat there, the very same one that shoved him down to the chopping block. A bitter pang of hatred surged through his body, but he let it go. She didn't know that he was somebody important back then and quite frankly neither did he. It was a forgivable mistake and Grim didn't give it much more thought than that. The argonian just smirked when she spewed her venomous words. She certainly thought she was something special, didn't she? Grim pitied her for her disgusting arrogance.
"You say you hate me, but you don't know a damn thing about me. We both fight for a cause we believe in, but aside from that we know nothing of each other. I don't hate you, I dislike what you stand for," Grim told her, getting to his feet and crossing his arms, "If you didn't believe that I was one of the Dragonborn then you wouldn't have sent me the letter and wasted your time. There's nothing to prove if you already know the truth."

Oh good. One of these people. "I sent you that letter on gut instinct and suggestion. If it wasn't for the fact that my gut feeling never lies and the Greybeards' Grandmaster said it was possible, I would not have gone so far as to write you. Prove me right. Set me on fire, turn me to ice, whatever you want. Show me if your Thu'um is powerful enough to be one of the chosen three." The cat said, challenging him. "Or would you rather I go first? It would only be fitting to prove myself as well. You have no reason to trust an Imperial Legate."

Tells-Grim-Tales laughed a bit. The thought of freezing or setting each other on fire was disturbingly humorous to the argonian. It just seemed so... stupid. If they both knew who each other were, what else was there to prove? The whole situation felt like a huge set up, but there wasn't a whole lot else to do. They were in Stormcloak territory, so Grim didn't think he was in a whole lot of danger if a fight broke out. He doubted anything like that would happen though, the Khajiit seemed pretty serious.
"Fine, fine... I am NOT going to set you on fire though. Let's not destroy the town either," said Grimnir with a shrug. They were in the middle of the town, so he didn't want to destroy any buildings or kill any people. Grim decided to use Unrelenting Force, rather than Fire Breath as to not set anything on fire. He looked up at the sky and released his powerful shout, "FUS!!!" The air around them shook with the sheer force of the shout and the argonian thought it was good enough.

S'kvari staggered. For a normal Dovahkiin, Fus would have just made her step back. He made her stagger thought. There was no doubt now. He was the third and final Dovahkiin. After she recovered, she let out an almost maniacal laughter. "You really are him. You staggered me with just the first word of Unrelenting Force. Well done. Now, it's my turn." As she drew her breath to shout, a dragon flew low overhead, spewing frost everywhere. The cocky grin she was known for crossed her face, as this dragon just ave her a reason to show off. "Perfect. Now I can show you the one shout that no one has learned in centuries. JOOR, ZAH FRUL!" As her voice echoed and caught the dragon off guard, it let out an angry roar. It struggled against the force of the shout, but it was no use. Finally, the shout forced it to land, and kept it pinned there, giving them the chance to do some major damage.

At first, Grim didn't know what to think of the Khajiit's laughter but cracked a smile. She was one weird person, there was no doubt about that. The Argonian just didn't know what to think anymore. Then the dragon flew over and Tells-Grim-Tales heard S'kvari shout words he wasn't familiar with. It felt like she was tugging at his soul, it was a really strange feeling, then he saw the dragon go down. A shout that forces a dragon to land?
"Impressive," the Argonian told S'kvari, "Lets rid this land of another dragon, shall we?" Grim took off towards the dragon, ready to slaughter the beast that threatened the town. If it was a frost dragon, fire would be his best bet. The Argonian drew his sword once he got close enough and slashed at the dragon. Grim was curious to see what S'kvari's strategy would be. He didn't have a plan yet, since dragons were unpredictable and he didn't know what this else shout did.

The Imperial Khajiit rushed the dragon, dodging it's snapping jaws and giving it a strong hit to it's gaping maw. When it started to take a breath, S'Kvari realize that she was too close and her easiest escape would put Tells-Grim-Tales in trouble. So she settled for running the other way, taking the full brunt of the Frost Breath.

When the dragon unleashed it's frosty breath on the Khajiit, Tells-Grim-Tales grumbled. His strategy, that he had just come up with, had to readjust. If he kept the dragon distracted, S'kvari could go in for the sneak attack and hopefully end the battle right then and there. But he had to get the dragon's attention back on him and it was too risky to unleash a full on fire attack because of S'kvari.
The Argonian opened his powerful jaws and let out a powerful shout, "Yol!" Flames spewed out, scorching the closest wing to himself. "I'll keep it distracted, you move in for the kill!" Grim ducked under the dragon and slashed at the back of it's hind legs, turning it's attention back to him. "We might not get a second chance!"

The Khajiit didn't have to be told twice. She quickly ran around behind the dragon and got up on it's back. From there, it was all just one flashy finish. The cat lept up and brought the battle axe down on it's head, finishing it instantly. However, she had to show off by flipping off it's head and returning her weapon to her back as soon as she hit the ground.

Grim wasn't at all impressed with the little flip and just chuckled. Did she really feel it was necessary to show off in front of him? Either she was insecure about herself, felt she had to prove something to him, or something in between. The Argonian didn't particularly care, he didn't feel the need to prove anything beyond the fact that he was Dragonborn.
"So now that we've proved our worth, what do we do now?"
(Sorry for the wait! =[ )

"Now, we resist the urge to kill each other until Alduin is defeated." She half-growled. "Wilhelm may have to keep me on a leash." She made it quite obvious that she didn't like the idea of working with a Stormcloak. Still, she needed to be nicer. The Khajiit let out a sigh and looked off. "I apologize. I should be nicer. You haven't wronged me yet, I shouldn't treat you as such. I'll try to bridle my tongue. No promises though."

Tells-Grim-Tales nodded his head, he understood that they had to resist butchering each other where they stood. The fate of the world was at stake and the argonian didn't want it to end so soon. Not while he was alive to stop it. Honestly, Grim didn't really have a problem with S'kvari as a living being. Sure she was a bit arrogant and rather annoying, but they hadn't really done anything to each other to warrant such hatred, beyond the obvious fact that they were on opposing sides.
"Our best bet is to forget that we are on opposite sides of the spectrum while we work together. Rather than being a Stormcloak and an Imperial, we are just an Argonian and a Khajiit. We can't let our selfish desires get in the way of the big picture." Grim told her, "Who knows, maybe working together might change the course of the war in a positive way."

"Tch. One can hope. Damn war makes it hard for me to do what I want. All the General's 'You are Dovahkiin by birth, but a soldier by oath' shit. I know what I am and what I did. Don't need some damn Imperial telling me that." The Legate snorted, finding a place to sit.

After hearing S'kvari's reply, the argonian couldn't help but chuckle. He knew exactly what she meant. Sure it was nice to be so desperately needed, but sometimes Grim wondered what he was missing out on by picking a side in the damn war. It was rather... odd... Even though the two were on opposite sides of the war, it seemed like they had a lot in common. Both had their duties to attend to, but they both wanted to go their own ways and do their own thing. Maybe, if they worked together, they could find some happy medium and finally end the war. Was peace in Skyrim possible? Probably not... but it was certainly worth a try.
"I know what you mean," the argonian said with a nod, "We should try to figure out a way to end this goddamn war. All of this senseless fighting is agonizing and just stupid. Our efforts should be focused on the dragons, not the empire or the rebels."
