Childhood
Melis Dreelothe had been a small child. Her parents didn't know if she would make it past her first year due to a terrible illness she couldn't seem to get over. Of course she did get over it, eventually, and grew up to be an important part of her community.
The blood sacrifices, animal slaughterings, and other basic necessities of Molag Bal worshipers required absolutely everyone's cooperation. Melis and her older brother used to place bets on who could lure the most villagers into their camp. Her favorite form of doing so was crying out for help and acting frightened when someone did rush to her aid. They always followed her deeper into the woods. They always met a terrible end.
Though she didn't drink the blood of the victims herself, that was for the Vampires only, Melis did enjoy the sight of it. The red liquid was beautiful as it flowed across stone altars. She was always transfixed as she watched the life fade from someone, knowing that death would never be her fate.
Vampirism
Traditionally, the Molag Bal Cultists wanted their followers to have any offspring before they submited to the higher calling of vampirism. Vampires were unable to have children, and if one wanted an heir they must do it before.
When Melis turned 16 she decided that she was not interested in having an heir. All she wanted was the power her parents enjoyed. Her brother had already married, had a son, and joined their ranks. She felt left out and begged the elders to make an exception. She wanted to be turned early. After much debate, the oldest in the group decided to allow it.
Melis could not get enough of the insatiable power she had as a vampire. She rarely left the confines of the cult, but didn't even miss her mortal self. She was drawn deeper and deeper into it all. Worshipped Molag daily and saw no problem with murdering anyone dumb enough to walk onto their land.
