"I've already met the Sellsword." S'kvari growled. "But finding one specific Dovahkiin in Skyrim? That's like trying trying to find a friendly Thalmor."

Ja'Raska chuckled, listening to the lack of faith in her tone. True, it was a one in a million shot to find another Dragonborn, but it certainly wasn't impossible! However, the part about the Thalmor was probably true... they all scoffed at him when they wandered by, but it never bothered him.
"They Greybeards might know who he or she is," he suggested again. "Don't they keep track of all of the dragonborn, or something of the sort?"
(OOC: That's alright, Winters-Kill! You didn't have to delete your post either. I was out of town and having internet troubles, so I wasn't ignoring you. Sorry D= )

"I doubt any of them but their Grandmaster knows, and I currently can't get up there." She said. It seemed kind of obvious to her that if she had the means to ask, she would have. However, this cat had already proven to her that he wasn't the brightest.

Despite what S'kvari thought, Ja'Raska knew a lot more than he let on. While he didn't know anything specific, the Khajiit had "borrowed" his fair share of books and did a lot of reading in his spare time. The Greybeards could supposedly hear the voices of the Dragonborn, if not all of the people of Skyrim in general. The books, however, never really mentioned the Greybeard's Grandmaster. Never referred to by an actual name, the books all said he was the ultimate master of the dragon tongue. But none of that was really important to him.
"I thought the Dragonborn could do anything if they set their mind to it?" asked the Khajiit.

"I CAN do anything I set my mind to. However, my mind is not set on learning the Clear Skies shout. Thus, no way up to the Throat of the World." She snorted, laying back and letting herself relax. She was apparently going to be here a while, might as well be comfortable. "I need time to get even stronger before I go off saving the world. I can bring a dragon out of the sky with nothing but my voice. No one has known the Dragonrend shout in ages, but I have mastery over it. I am a fucking prodigy, and yet, I know I'm not strong enough to take on Alduin yet. That should tell you how bad this has gotten."
Her voice was serious, and yet, it still had that hint of cocky, S'kvari tone in it.

Ja'Raska wasn't quite sure what sort of advice he could give her, not that she'd probably listen to it anyway. Perhaps it was her arrogance that was blinding her to probably the most obvious answer there was for the situation. The Greybeards were supposed to help the Dragonborn, why wouldn't they help S'kvari learn the Clear Skies shout so she could speak to their Grandmaster? Ja'Raska knew that he'd definitely go to the Greybeards to become stronger.
"Perhaps you should make learning that shout a priority then? The Greybeards are meant to help the Dragonborn, yes?" Ja'Raska asked, "The Grandmaster might have some information that could help you become stronger."

"Yeah. I've been to the Greybeards and they said I'm not ready." She growled, obviously annoyed at the memory. "So I listed off some rather colorful words and left. I'll go back when I've learned the shout myself. Anybody that thinks I'm arrogant should meet them. Who are they to judge if I'm ready or not? All they do is sit around on their ass and mediate!"
As she spoke, she got angrier. As she got angrier, she sat up. "Oh they are go lucky I can't use Frost Breath yet. Making them a little colder won't her them."
Finally she gave a sigh and laid back down. "My apologies." The Khajiit half growled. Obviously she didn't apologize often. "It's not your fault that they can't see past their own nose. You haven't wronged me yet, so I should not have snapped at you... I really need to work on the being nice part of my high Speechcraft."

The Greybeards knew what was best for the Dragonborn, or so it was said. They knew more on the matters of the way of the voice than anybody else so Ja'Raska wasn't about to question their motives. However, questioning S'kvari's motives was an entirely different situation all together. To the male Khajiit, she seemed like a pompous woman who doesn't really give a crap about anybody but herself. Those type of people generally didn't last long in Skyrim, then again most of them didn't have the dragon language on their side.
"No apology necessary, friend," Ja'Raska chuckled, "But Ja'Raska has to wonder, why do the Greybeards think that you are not ready to meet their Grandmaster?"

"Oh, don't do that." She said, ears immediately going back. "You have been good so far as to not lose your ears. Don't refer to yourself in third person around me. I really don't want to kill you. You are the second Khajiit man to not immediately piss me off."
"I don't know why they don't think I'm ready. Maybe I'm not. But I will be next time. I'll be more than ready." She assured, accidentally letting some doubt slip into her voice. For once she wasn't so confident in herself. "I hope so anyway. If Wilhelm and I don't hurry, Skyrim is as good as gone."

The Khajiit laughed at S'kvari's response to his accidental slip. He had lived in Skyrim for as long as he could remember, but occasionally he did slip up and say something in third person. It was never intentional, but he just couldn't help himself sometimes. Normally other Khajiit found him much more relatable when he spoke like that, but S'kvari apparently did not approve of it at all.
"I'm sorry, my old habits come back when i'm around other Khajiit," Ja'Raska told her with a chuckle. When he heard the sudden change in her tone, Ja'Raska finally saw past her cocky exterior and realized that she wasn't arrogant all of the time. The male Khajiit smiled at her, "You are destined for greatness, though the road might be unclear now, it will reveal itself to you in time."

"I thank you for the encouragement." She said, cocky smile returning, but voice sincere. "It is much appreciated. Even a confident cat like me needs it from time to time."
"So what do you do around here. I already know the answer, I just want to see if you'll tell me the truth." S'kvari asked.

Ja'Raska nodded when she thanked him, even the arrogant needed encouragement every once in awhile. Since S'kvari was also one of the three special dragonborn, it didn't hurt to suck up to her a little bit too, even though everything he said was genuine.
"You are very welcome," said Ja'Raska, "Can't have one of the prophesied Dragonborn unsure of her abilities. You must be confident, but not too confident when facing the World Eater. Hmmmm.... Perhaps that is why the Greybeards do not think you're ready?"
He knew it was only a matter of time before S'kvari asked what exactly it was that he did in Riften. Well, it was pretty obvious. A Khajiit in Riften? That could only leave one thing.
"It's best left unsaid, but I do believe we both know what I do," he told her, looking back at his lute. "I am, however, a bard as well."

"That is probably it." She chuckled, knowing good and well the Greybeards were worried about her confidence.
When he half told her what he did, she grinned. "Yeah, I know what you do. Let me give you a bit of advice then." She sat up and leaned forward. "Tell you friends that if they don't steal from me, your guild may benefit from it. Aside from the fact that I could kill you all, I reward those who help me. Generously. I'm not short of money. I own Proudspire Manor after all."

Ja'Raska chuckled at her threat. He wasn't afraid of dying, nor were most of the other members of the Thieves' Guild, others were not so... well, fearless. However, the entire guild knew better than to rob just any stranger behind. It wasn't often that people came to Riften, due to it's reputation, so when somebody did appear, the Thieves' Guild watched them very closely. They had eyes everywhere and knew better to steal from a potential client or ally.
"We know better than to mess with Dragonborn," the Khajiit told S'kvari with a smile, "Especially those that hold the fate of our world in their hands. If you ever need any... work done, let me know, yes?"
